A very dry Spring.

What a month May has been, the weather gods really have been playing nicely. We have started to introduce some longer rides and for some of us with events coming up this Summer, our training really has ramped up. We have visited familiar destinations such as The Queen Stage in Effingham, Jacksons Café at California Country Park, Cinammon Café in Windsor and Box Hill. Just last weekend we embarked upon another ride to the south coast to visit Brighton, with Paula smashing a lot of the hills that she will ride in a couple of weeks when she takes on the annual London to Brighton charity ride. We are sure you will do very well Paula.
Our event list for June is already populated as we head to The Chocolate Café in Henley this weekend and later in the month we visit Pinnock's in Ripley and Dorney Garden Centre. Two of us will be riding the Chase The Sun event on Saturday 21st of June, in the 205 mile coast to coast ride starting at sunrise on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, with the aim to reach Weston-super-Mare in Somerset before sunset.
Our Wednesday Evening Pretzel rides in Richmond Park are now well under way, with us meeting at Kingston Gate at 18:30 and the Pretzel takes approx 75-90 minutes to complete. We will post these each week on our Events page, weather depending. Our Wednesday Pretzel rides also double up as Full Member Induction Rides, so if you are interested in coming along and meeting a few of the members, sign up via the events page by clicking the RSVP button on the event page.
During May we also gained another new member, so welcome to HWCC, Catriona. Catriona found us after seeing a group of us riding through Surbiton on our way back from a Box Hill ride. We must have made a good impression with our behaviour, as Catriona contacted the club with a membership enquiry just a few days after this ride. It is important that our members display good riding skills and etiquette when representing HWCC out on the roads, so well done to all memebrs who attended the Box Hill ride. You are advertising the club in the right way.
At HWCC we are a friendly bunch and we welcome new members to our club. If you would like to join us on our future rides, sign up for either a Full Member Induction Ride or a Beginners Session on our Events Page. Once you have attended either of those events you will be given more details on joining Hampton Wick Cycling Club.
We look forward to meeting you soon. In the meantime please use some of the links at the top of the page to view our social media channels.
